The founding guitarist of LORDI AMEN leaves the group

Foundation Lordi guitarist Jussi “Amen” Sydanmaa left the group. Sydänmaa has been with the band since its inception in 1995 and left the band nearly three decades later because “life happens and people change”. Lordi will release seven albums in 2021 under the name Lordiversitywho are now SydänmaaThe last recordings with the group… and there are many.

As it concerns Sydänmaa», everything seems rather positive. He thanks everyone in the band over the years, is “relieved, but sad” he’s leaving, and basically says he doesn’t know where the future will take him. Read the full statement below.


“My beloved friends, fans and supporters. My heart has never felt heavier than today. Never. Today is the day I have to tell you that my guitar fell silent in Lordi.

“I would never have thought of writing these lines, but life passes and people change.

“Half my life I gave everything for my dream of being a rock’n’roll star. From a small village in Finland, I was able to travel the world and play for you. I realized my dream! This was not possible without the support of all these amazing and crazy people. We shared so many amazing memories, all those live performances, your smiling faces in the crowd, hands on my shoulders, gifts you gave me, the stories you told me. . I will cherish them forever. And I can’t thank you enough, for everything you gave me. All the love, the support, everything THANK YOU!

“A journey like this is only possible when you have hard working people around you. A list of thanks would be huge, but everyone who has worked with me and with the band deserves my endless gratitude. record labels to booking agencies, from managers to accounting firms, from bus drivers to catering agents.
